About a year or so ago, there was an article in the news about women getting lip fillers from a ‘fake’ injector. These injections caused a lot of pain, swelling, and even permanent damage. Now more than ever, you need to be careful about who to trust when it comes to any type of injections like dermal fillers.
One thing to look for when looking for injectors around your area is to do a simple Google search. If one office catches your eye, check out the website and who is doing the BOTOX and dermal filler injections. Look for credentials like RN, BSN, MSN, FNP-C, or MD. All of these medical credentials means the injector went to medical or nursing school and is licensed to be doing what they are doing. Never go to someone’s house for injections, even if you may know them personally. If something goes wrong, you may not get the attention needed in a timely manner like you would at an actual office. When you go to an office that is certified to be using Galderma and Allergan products, you are guaranteed non-expired and legitimate products.
We know that investing in injectables can be expensive, but do not settle for deals you may see advertised on Facebook or websites like Groupon. If the deal seems too good to be true, it more than likely is. The person may not be licensed, may be using an expired product, or both! Instead, save money on your treatments by signing up for the brand’s reward program. Allergan’s rewards program is called Alle, and you can earn rewards on Allergan’s products like BOTOX, Juvederm, SkinMedica, and even Natrelle breast implants! Galderma’s reward program is called Aspire and you can gain points on their products like Restylane, Dysport, and Sculptra. Both of these programs have incentives for signing up for their program like money off on any of the treatments listed above. Remember, don’t go to an injector that is cheap, because you will get exactly what you pay for when it comes to injectables.
So you found an office or injector that you think you might want to go to, so now what? Check out their reviews and their portfolio! Patient reviews mean everything when it comes to injectables, especially when they have photos. Make sure to look on all platforms as well like Facebook, Google, and Yelp. Each platform has different posting requirements when it comes to verified users. You can even check out RealSelf, which is a platform that is solely dedicated to the aesthetics industry. Next, see if your injector has an Instagram account to showcase their work, and if they don’t, that may just be a red flag. Nowadays, social media in general acts as a portfolio for potential patients to look at when deciding on where to go.
Don’t settle for anything less than the best for injectables. We may be a little biased, but we love our injector, Trish Hultgren, FNP-C. She is continuously furthering her education as well as teaching others along the way. Call our Scottsdale office at (480) 571-7625 to book an appointment with @injectorbabe on Instagram, aka Trish Hultgren, FNP-C.
